My #EndOfPaletteRainbows mural and installed artworks, commissioned by David Baker Architects and Fletcher Studio at Tahanan, 145 studio apartments of permanent supportive housing for adults who have experienced homelessness in the SOMA District of San Francisco.

Each of the five residential levels features original artworks by Wendy Heldmann, the artist of the courtyard mural on the ground level that is dedicated to community uses.

The site falls within the SOMA Pilipinas Cultural District, which was established by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and Planning Department to preserve the cultural diversity of the South of Market with special attention to the culture and contributions of the Filipino American community in the area. The building name, Tahanan, is a Tagalog word which evokes “home”, “coming home”, “return home” and represents a place for people and families to return to or rest.

A partnership of Mercy Housing and the San Francisco Accelerator Fund (SFHAF) with support from Tipping Point Community, Tehanan was developed in close collaboration with the Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing of the City of San Francisco.
